Board Members

Marilyn Barksdale is married to a United Methodist pastor.  They have two adopted children and two grandchildren.  Marilyn has a Bachelor of Science degree in English with a minor in Journalism and a Masters degree in Education.  Marilyn taught high school in Murray, Kentucky for 25 years.  She volunteers at the Obion County Library and as a tutor with Obion County Schools.   Marilyn is a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church / Rush Creek United Methodist Church, where she has taught Sunday School for young adults and is a member of New Beginnings, a church group for women.
 
Dr. John R. Bonson, Sr. is the Director of Correctional Ministries for the Memphis Annual Conference. His father was adopted from the "Orphan Train" in 1918.
 
Rev. Dr. Cynthia Davis serves as the Memphis Conference McKendree District Superintendent of The Methodist Church.  She is married to a member of the United Methodist clergy.  Her doctoral focus was public health and decreasing obesity while increasing health promotion.  She has served on the board of Hannah’s Hope since 2005.
 
Rev. J. Barry Henson is married and has three children and five grandchildren.  He receives his Bachelor of Science degree of Lambuth University and his Masters of Divinity at Memphis Theological Seminary.  He is presently serving as District Superintendent for the McKendree District.  He has served on the Wesley Senior Ministries Board, the Wesley Foundation University of Memphis Board, United Methodist Neighborhood Centers, Inc. Board, U.T. Campus Ministry Board, Lambuth University Trustees; and Memphis Conference Pensions Board.
 
Cindy Jaggers is the wife of local television and radio meteorologist, Jim Jaggers, and the mother of two.  She is a member of Scenic Hills United Methodist Church.  Cindy is a graduate of the Vanderbilt School of Nursing and presently works as a national account manager for Intracorp.  She has been involved in many church, school and community activities, including Chair of the Nurture Committee at her church and as a board member for Make-A-Wish Foundation.
 
Vickie Hardy Jones, her husband and their two children attend Colonial Park United Methodist Church, where Vickie presently serves as Chair of the Council on Ministries.  Vickie attended Rhodes College where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and from the University of Memphis where she received her Juris Doctorate degree.  She practices law with the Memphis firm of Black McLaren Jones Ryland & Griffee, P.C.

Kristi R. Rezabek and her husband are blessed that God made their family whole through adoption when their daughter was born.  Kristi grew up in Martin, Tennessee and received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin.  She attended law school at the University of Memphis and is employed as a Staff Attorney for the Court of Appeals in Jackson, Tennessee.  Kristi attends Lambuth Memorial United Methodist Church.  Her community involvement includes service as the President of the Lawyers Association for Women (Anne Schneider Chapter) and as a member of the Board of Directors for Tennessee Lawyer’s Association for Women.
 
Adam Ryan is married to his lovely wife Beth Ryan who works in Youth and Young Adult Ministries at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, where they are members.  Adam is blessed to have grown his family through adoption and acknowledges Hannah’s Hope as being an integral part of their adoption journey.  He is a graduate of Mississippi State University, where he received a Bachelors of Business Administration and a Masters of Business Administration.  He is employed by St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
 
Marcia H. Tate is married to a United Methodist pastor who counts himself amount 25-30 ministers in his family.  Marcia also has a son and daughter-in-law in the ministry.   She is a member of Fulton First United Methodist Church and has served on the board of Hannah’s Hope since its inception.  In addition, Marcia has served on a Disaster Response Team,  has volunteered packing and distributing food to Fulton County families, has participated in Christian clowning, has worked as program director for elementary camp at Lakeshore, has taught clown make up for music and drama camp at Lakeshore, and is involved with the United Methodist Women and other church related outreach programs.
 
Rev. Dr. Kenneth S. Uselton serves as the senior minister at First United Methodist Church in Millington, Tennessee.  He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Tennessee, his Masters of Divinity at Vanderbilty University and his Doctorate of Ministry at Vanderbilty University.  He has participated in the National Urban Academy, Leadership Nashville and Leadership Millington.   He has been involved with the National Foundation for Transplants, the Shelby County Education Foundation, the Nashville Area United Methodist Foundation,  and the Millington Chamber, among others.
 
Art Weeden has two children.  Art received his Bachelor of Arts degree at Hendrix College and his Masters of Education from the University of Memphis.  In 2009, Art retired after serving for 30 years as a student financial aid officer at Rhodes College.  Art is a member at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.
